Apply Online Credit Courses to Your Current Degree Program

All campuses of the University of Minnesota offer online courses.

1. Search the Course Catalog

Searching the Course Catalog will give you a comprehensive listing of online courses and their descriptions by campus. If you would like course details (semester offered, instructor, course status, etc.), use the Class Schedule below.

  • Click on the Course Information tab.
  • Select an institution and campus, then make sure you select "Online Course" for both Course Attribute and Attribute Value.
  • Hit Search.

2. Search the Class Schedule

The Class Schedule provides detailed class information, such as instructor, dates, and available seats.

  • Select an institution and a term from the pull-down menus.
  • Scroll down toward the bottom of the page and select a Mode of Instruction (Completely Online, Partially Online, Primarily Online, etc.).
  • Hit Search.

3. Register

  • As a U of M student taking an online course from your campus:
    • Register via One Stop, the same way you do for your classroom-based courses.
  • As a U of M student taking an online course from a different U of M campus:
    • Check with an adviser before taking courses at another campus to ensure the course will meet your general education and/or major requirements.
    • Fill out a copy of the multi-institutional form, and have it processed by your home campus. You will need to consult with your college adviser and financial aid office to complete the application. If you are planning to take online courses from more than one U of M campus you will need to fill out a separate form for each campus.
    • Students currently enrolled on one campus should check with an adviser before taking courses at another campus to ensure the course will meet their general education and/or major requirements.
  • As a non-U of M student taking an online course:
    • To register for the course, follow the links below for the campus offering the course.
